You’re invited to review the NHMRC Statement on consumer and community involvement in research

The NHRMC National Statement on consumer and community involvement in health and medical research is under review, and the Australian Health Research Association would value your input.

Western Alliance, in partnership with the Community and Research Network (CARN), will be holding an in-person workshop for consumers in Geelong on Friday 3 May (10.30am – 12.30pm) to review the Statement.

The workshop will involve discussion and collation of feedback around key questions relating to the review of the consumer statement:

  • What parts of the current statement have or have not worked well?
  • What overarching values are essential to include in the value statement of the revised Consumer Statement?
  • What are the most important practice principles to include in the revised consumer statement?
  • What roles and responsibilities should be included in the revised consumer statement for consumers and communities; researchers; research institutions; and funders?

In preparation for the workshop, it is recommended that participants read the Consumer Statement Review Position Paper here.
